In the aerospace sector, because we aim high
Aviotecnica S.r.l. has been operating in the aerospace and aeronautical sectors since 1953, specialising in the production of pressed and machined parts in various alloys and in the construction of medium-complexity structural assemblies in metal, composites and hybrid materials.
Thanks to constant investments in software, machinery, equipment and control procedures backed up by the professionalism and continual training of our personnel, we have achieved high levels of expertise in systems and processes, exceptional competitiveness and a high level of specialisation.
Our reliability and the quality standards we guarantee allow us to set our sights high to face the tough market challenges and consolidate our position as a reference supplier for the main international OEMs and MROs worldwide.
Our expertise is confirmed by certification to EN ISO 9100 Release 2009 (certification no. 60786-2009) and the fact that our work processes and control procedures are qualified and certified by the main aeronautical customers with which we work, including Mecaer Aviation Group (Actuation and Landing System Division), Leonardo (both Helicopters and Aircraft & Aerostructures Divisions), Microtecnica (a subsidiary of UTC Aerospace Systems) and Aerea.
The years fly by and we're flying with them...
In 1953 Franco Montonati set up a small engineering business in Sesto Calende, on the Lombardy side of the river Ticino. Pursuing its founder's passion for mechanical engineering and his fascination with the world of aviation, Officine Montonati specialised in making parts and components for the aerospace industry, also helped by its proximity to the famous Italian aircraft OEM SIAI Marchetti (subsequently acquired by Agusta, which now trades under the name of Leonardo Helicopters), and Aeritalia (today Leonardo Aircraft & Aerostructures), which were to become its first customers.
The company name was changed to Aviotecnica S.r.l. in 1967 and it started to stand out for its exceptional quality levels and precision of its mechanical component products and as well as for its attention to, and ability to meet, the complex demands of the aeronautical and aerospace industries. The initial highly encouraging results propelled the company on a path of expansion and led Mr. Montonati to look for new customers and invest in the business to help it reach new heights of prestige and expertise.
Thanks to a growing customer portfolio, in 1967 the initial mechanical engineering workshop was completed with the galvanic coating, heat treatment, surface coating and assembly departments. The entire process was also supported by production engineering, metallography laboratories and non-destructive testing, with a significant increase in the number of technical personnel employed.
Today, after more than 60 years in business, Aviotecnica S.r.l. is a reference supplier for major international players in the aerospace and aeronautical sectors. The company's 4,500 m2 plant is composed of offices, test labs (destructive and non-destructive testing), preparation, pressing, mechanical engineering, heat and galvanic treatments, assembly facilities and a warehouse. A specific area has also been set up for the final formation of structural assemblies.
Recent investments have focused on expanding and strengthening the assembly departments and making improvements to the TIG welding department to allow us to work with different materials (aluminium, titanium and steel).
